Success at Silverstone

As part of my build up to Valencia I have 2 warm up races, and this week saw me driving a BMW M3 in the BRSCC Saloon Car race at Silverstone. This was a short meeting with only 2, 15 minute races plus qualifying but it did give me a chance to get behind the wheels of a nice quick car.
Despite the fact that this was a completely new car to me, it was a circuit that I had never driven around and it was wet I qualified 4th which was a great result. The first race was even better because I passed the 3rd placed car shortly after the start then drove a nice clean race to bring the car home in 3rd place. I was absolutely delighted and this now means that I am the youngest ever podium finisher in a senior circuit race…another record for me.
The second race took place on a much drier track which meant that the more powerful cars in the grid were able to use all of their speed and this meant that I finished in 6th place. However I was still really pleased with this because the power of my car in relation to the others meant that I should have been much further down the field.
What a brilliant weekend and a huge thank you to Andy from Podium Preparations for preparing such a great car for me. Great experience and fantastic practice for Valencia and a nice Silverstone trophy to add to the collection. Next week is Oulton Park so I hope to have as much fun there.
